An Alabazam is an excellent brandy highball with a little citrus flavor and a dash of the distinctive Angostura bitters. Almost any brandy can be used in this cocktail and it is one of the few in which Armagnac (typically not mixed into cocktails) works really well.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz brandy
- 3/4 oz lemon juice
- 1/2 oz orange curacao
- 1/2 oz simple syrup
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 2 oz soda water
Preparation:
- Pour the brandy, lemon juice, orange curacao, simple syrup and Angostura bitters into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
- Shake well.
- Strain into a highball glass filled with ice.
- Top with soda water.
