Caffeine is a natural substance that is found in coffee, tea chocolate and other substances. Caffeine can provide mood-elevating effects and increase alertness. However, it is also a habit-forming substance* that can cause unpleasant side effects in some people.

Excess caffeine can cause caffeine sensitivity or overdose symptoms, such as jitteriness and nausea. On the other end of the spectrum, caffeine withdrawal can cause symptoms like headaches and irritability.

* Did you know? As few as three consecutive days of caffeine consumption can be enough to make caffeine a habit. After three days of consuming caffeine and then ceasing caffeine consumption, many people experience caffeine withdrawal symptoms.
