Best Green Tea Types

An image of Genmaicha, a Japanese tea blend made of green tea and toasted and/or puffed rice.
Green tea is gaining popularity in the West due to its health benefits. On the one hand, this is great! More people are sipping an ancient, healthy and (potentially) delicious beverage. However, green tea is often considered to be one of those foods that "tastes good for you" rather than an enjoyable beverage.

In fact, one of the most frequent questions I get when I'm talking to tea newbies is how to find a green tea that's enjoyable. I find that the reasons most people haven't "found a green tea that tastes good" are twofold: they are drinking low quality tea and they are brewing it incorrectly. With that in mind, I created a new guide to the best green tea types for beginners, and it covers the most popular and easiest to prepare green teas for newbies. It includes tasting notes, photos, brewing tips and price comparisons.

If you've been trying to get into green tea (for health reasons or otherwise), or you're trying to share your love of green tea with others, check out this guide to the best green tea types. Happy steeping!
