Caffeine in Tea

One of the most frequently asked questions I get is, "How much caffeine is in tea?" Although I wish the answer were simple, the amount of caffeine in tea varies widely and depends on many factors. However, I've collected a few resources to help answer your questions about caffeine in tea.

If you're looking for some numbers on how many milligrams of caffeine are in different types of tea, check out my article on how much caffeine is in tea, coffee and other drinks.

If you'd like a more in-depth explanation of what influences the amount of caffeine found in different teas, check out my article on factors influencing caffeine levels in teas.

If you're looking for "caffeine-free teas" (more accurately known as "tisanes"), check out my article on tisane basics. And, although most herbal infusions are free of caffeine, if you want caffeine in your "herbal tea," check out my article on yerba mate, a naturally high-caffeine herb.
