Floradora

The Floradora, or Florodora, is a classic cocktail that has been run into near-obscurity, but you'll still find it in many bartending guides. It was named after the first Broadway musical hit in the 1900's, which originated in London. In How's Your Drink?, Eric Felten tells a great story surrounding the drink. Originally the drink was made with raspberry syrup but almost always uses framboise liqueur (raspberry-flavored, such as Chambord) now.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz gin
  • 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz framboise liqueur
  • Ginger ale
  • lime wedge for garnish

Preparation:

  1. Pour the gin, lime juice and framboise into a highball glass filled with ice.
  2. Top with ginger ale.
  3. Garnish with a lime wedge.
